After shower

5. Turn OFF hot water (double 25 amp breaker in laundry room).

6. Last chance to go to bathroom, then close water shut off valve in basement, near egress window (check for leaks after 10 minutes). Put hose on faucet in basement and run hose to sump pump. Open basement faucet then open all faucets in house (inside and out) and flush toilets. Close outside faucets after draining.

7. Drain water heater. Add antifreeze to toilet bowls and a little to sink traps.

8. Set thermostat range (55 - 85).

9. Turn off ceiling fans, open all doors and unplug un-needed appliances/electronics.

10. Lock windows, close all blinds, double lock all doors except front door bottom lock (that way we can give the code to get in front door). Make sure the screen door latches and porch light switch is on. Turn off all inside lights on the way out.

Pack:

1. Bring liquids, batteries, valuable tools from garage to basement.

2. Check all drawers, under the bed, in the dryer and pack all needed items. Remember: FIRECUBE & remote (blue button), checkbook, computers, phones, chargers, google nest hub, kids car seats, check safe, passports & and important documents. Replace batteries if old in any smoke detectors.

3. Plug in cooler. Throw out/give away/take all perishable food items in the refrigerator and cupboards.

4. Take out four toner cartridges in the printer, put in a zip lock bag and put in the refrigerator.
